CONSTRUCTION ON LOCAL ROADS

CHENEY-SPOKANE ROAD CLOSED

CLOSED FROM PULLMAN HIGHWAY TO CEDAR ROAD

SUMMER 2024 Local Road Construction will affect SSHF traffic

If you are coming off I-90, in either direction: Please beware of major road closures around the farm. If you have been to SSHF before, you may remember typically driving past a collection of stores/grocery store off the Cheney-Spokane Road Exit of 195 S. This typical way of traveling to the farm will be closed Summer of 2024. Please read this debrief carefully so you can arrive with ease.

WHEN CHENEY- SPOKANE ROAD IS CLOSED

PLEASE TAKE ONE OF OUR RECOMMENDED ROUTES! Apple and Google Maps is routing people the “non-horse trailer friendly” directions.

TRAVELING WEST on I-90: Take Exit 279 towards Pullman on 195 S, pass the usual exit (Cheney- Spokane Road) and continue 195 S until:

OPTION #1: right turn onto EXCELSIOR Road. Right turn onto Hatch Road. Left turn onto GIBBS. GIBBS Road dead ends into the corner of SSHF on Sherman Rd. This is a gravel road.

OPTION #2: right turn onto PARADISE road. This bends into Sherman Rd and the farm will be on your left. This is all paved road.

HEADING EAST on I-90: We recommend when hauling to take Exit 257 for Tyler/ Cheney. Continue through Cheney, until taking a right onto Cheney-Spokane Road, then a rollback onto Sherman Rd. (We usually drive this way when hauling back into Spokane, especially if we want to avoid traffic on I90’s hill into Spokane (-your sshf fam).)

OPTION #2: Continue until Exit 279 and follow recommendations above from 195 S.

Under ANY Circumstance DO NOT take a horse trailer on WHITE ROAD. THIS IS EXTREMELY STEEP! DO NOT go up or down with a trailer or camper. It is also very windy.

We DO NOT recommend following the construction detour traveling through housing development Eagle Ridge.

As a suggestion, if you put the farm into your phones GPS, add a secondary point of travel – the intersections we have recommended. This will keep you on the correct route away from closures, and difficult neighborhood roads.

DETOUR OPTIONS from 195 s

GIBBS ROAD OPTION #1

https://maps.app.goo.gl/41fad3Q4zFQb6LNXA

This is 3 miles of Gravel Road

From 195 S: Right turn onto EXCELSIOR Road. Right turn onto Hatch Road. Left turn onto GIBBS. GIBBS Road dead ends into the corner of SSHF on Sherman Rd.

PARADISE ROAD OPTION #2

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wk3hr1U5h5gQ1DCw5

This is 5 miles longer, but all paved.

From 195 S: Right turn onto PARADISE road. This turns into Sherman Rd and the farm will be on your left.

Detour Options from I-90 Eastbound

Traveling from I-90 E. We call this the "back way home" when heading east. Take Exit 257 for Tyler/Cheney this takes you on country roads, through Cheney, and is paved the whole way. There is one tight turn on this route, rollback turn onto SHERMAN from CHENEY-SPOKANE road. Your phone may recommend Four Lakes but this is very windy.
